• Planetary Gearset: Creates gear ratios and controls power transfer to the axle
• Clutch: Disengages the engine from the wheels. It keeps the transmission and engine gears shifting at the same speed
• Gearshift: A box that controls the power sent to the axle. It signals the transmission to shift into different gears or go in reverse
• Drivetrain: Controls the direction and speed of the drive wheels

Transmission problems are kept to a minimum if you check your transmission fluid at least once a month. Regular maintenance will prevent stress on your vehicle that will lead to costly repairs.

It’s possible to over or under fill your transmission fluid, so bring your vehicle to us to take the guesswork out of preventative maintenance.

• Shifting before your vehicle stops, causing destructive grinding in automatic transmissions
