Thank a Trucker Today by Celebrating National Truck Drivers Appreciation Week

Probably one of the biggest understatements you’ll hear today goes like this: truck drivers are an extremely important part of our American economy. It’s an understatement, because it’s almost impossible to put into words how deeply important these professionals are to the average American. They move goods all around the country, keep commerce humming, and people fed.

They do so safely and on time. National Truck Driver Appreciation Week—a week to recognize, appreciate and celebrate the country’s truck drivers—kicks off on September 10. It was developed to show gratitude for truck drivers by American Trucking Associations (ATA), the largest national trade association for the trucking industry. Bauer Built would like to take this opportunity to express our appreciation of America’s truck drivers.

There are approximately 3.4 million trucks on the roadways and 3.5 million truck drivers. Without trucks, it would be nearly impossible for any business or household to run. That’s why we think it’s important to acknowledge these drivers. September 10-16 is a time to honor and thank all those drivers on the roads every day. It takes commitment, hard work, focus, and endurance to be a truck driver and keep our lives moving forward every day.

And while we certainly want to recognize them throughout the year, it’s wonderful to have a specific week and initiative to celebrate these hard workers. Because not only do these drivers keep the economy running, they also keep the roads safe by adhering to regulations and always being mindful of safe driving practices.
